ART MEANS BUSINESS
Our 2023 Outreach Initiative:
ART MEANS BUSINESS
Reimagine Runnemede successfully hosted a Design Workshop Series for businesses in Camden County. With the support of a generous grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, administered by the Camden County Cultural and Heritage Commission, and a sponsorship by Holman, this workshop series aimed to help businesses elevate their operations using the arts. Open to all businesses in Camden County, participants had the opportunity to learn valuable insights and strategies.
The series comprised four workshops held on the 4th Monday of April, May, and June, along with an additional session on May 8th. Each workshop focused on a different aspect of incorporating art into business practices. The first workshop, held on April 24, explored the effective use of windows, interiors, and sidewalk enhancements to promote businesses without high costs.
On May 8, the second workshop delved into revitalizing building facades. Design professionals shared tips on making impactful changes that provide the best return on investment, highlighting the significance of clean windows and fresh coats of paint.
The third workshop, held on May 22, focused on logos, branding, and creative signage. Participants discovered the importance of investing in these elements to establish brand recognition and examined the negative impact of cutting corners to save money.
Concluding the series on June 26, the fourth workshop featured restaurateurs sharing their experiences on using great design to create Instagram-worthy dining experiences. Attendees seeking restaurant makeovers gained inspiration from their success stories.
Each two-hour workshop showcased a panel of design professionals, including architects, builders, contractors, interior and landscape designers, graphic and lighting designers, sign makers, and chefs. The professionals presented success stories to emphasize how the arts can elevate local businesses. Attendees learned how to find, budget for, and collaborate with design experts.
The Design Workshop Series aimed to raise awareness about the transformative power of the arts for small businesses in South Jersey. By providing insights and connections to design professionals, Reimagine Runnemede strived to empower businesses to enhance their operations through creative and strategic design.
